The University of Florida has a history of outstanding athletics and a reputation for excellence in medicine. Our Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship combines elements of both to create an outstanding educational experience for the sports medicine fellow. This fellowship is housed primarily in the UF Student Health Care Center (SHCC) which provides non-operative sports medicine and primary care for the approximately 50,000 students of the University of Florida including its athletic teams. DCHFM physicians, both at SHCC and the residency program, will play an integral role in educating the fellow. The faculty includes 4 CAQ primary care sports medicine physicians and 6 physicians who are current or previous team physicians at the University of Florida. Other faculty members are from various departments at the university including CHFM, Orthopedics, Sports Health, Athletic Training, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Cardiology, Radiology, Nutrition, Psychology, Physical Therapy, Anatomy, and Pharmacy. With the addition of the primary care sports medicine fellowship, the DCHFM looks to continue its long legacy of excellence in family medicine education.
