Our faculty continue to be highly
evaluated for their medical student teaching activities. CHFM
faculty are involved in the First Year Preceptorship and the
Essentials of Patient Care courses; Ethics, and Physical Diagnosis
courses in the second year; the six-week Interdisciplinary
Clerkship in the third year; and various electives and our
in-patient rotation in the fourth year of the curriculum. Our
medical student teaching activities are further detailed by Dr.
Robert Hatch, in the Medical Education section of this report.
The accomplishments of our Family Medicine Residency Programs
are documented by Drs. Hall and Wilson. We graduate eight new
family physicians each year from our Gainesville program and ten
per year from Jacksonville. The vast majority of our graduates
have established successful family practices around the state. In
addition, the dissolution of Family Practice Medical Group, Inc.
and the transition of the residency program clinic to the Faculty
Group Practice were successfully completed.
